lavender oil in small pet bedding.

has anyone else heard of the studys saying lavender oil is unhealthy for small pets like guinea pigs, rats mice, gerbils, hamsters etc. i have 4 mice and 2 hamsters and i am NEVER going to buy scented bedding like soft sorbent lavender bedding. the lavender oil has harmful effects on there respiratory systems can cause eye infections, skin irritations, lethargia, and weight gain. im not gonna risk that and expose my critters to a harmful product.
