Border collie has red eye and milky discharge

What home remedies can you suggest? We had used a human anti biotic cream successfully last time. I can't recall what it was though. Thanks

Please bring your dog to a vet. The eye is such a sensitive thing that doing the wrong thing could permanently damage it or even lead to blindness. Even if you washed out the eye with basic saline solution it would only help to clear out the gunk without treating the underlying problem. A vet could find out what was really wrong and hopefully help clear it up for good.
