Dogloo

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the group so I'm hoping my posting is appropriate to this section. I live in Canada (Ottawa area).

I have cats and another cat homeless cat has been coming around. Unfortunately, for many reasons we can't bring him in (one being that he is not fixed which will caused territory markiing as I already have cats and I cannot bring him to the vet as he freaks out when he see the carrier; resulting in me going to the Dr's office for the appropriate shots and medication for my wounds). This is mainly just background info. He is very lovable, it took several months for him to trust us and come close to us, but now we can pet him and rub his belly (everything is fine as long as I don't try to pick him up or try to make him do something against his will like going to the vet).

All that to say, we do want to take car of him but, for many reasons including the bloody details I mentionned above, he'll have to remain an outdoor cat. So we've been looking for doghouses. We've concluded that the Indigo Dgloo (medium) would be best for our little guy. However, ordering one when you live in Canada can be tough (even Petsmart only carries large which won't be very good for retaining his body heat). Does anyone have any suggestions of where I can purchase one or something of equivalent quality?

Thanks so much!

Hi, I found this useful article about how to build a warm shelter for feral cats. It is on the IndyFeral website http://www.indyferal.org/index.php?page=shelters and they also link to a place that sells these types of shelters here http://www.feralvilla.com

I hope this is helpful and good luck with your kitty!

Oh yes I forgot to say that I am not affiliated with either of these two sites. thanks.
