New family member, both are jealous!! How can we ease tension?

By Bridget1219 - Posted on 28 September 2009

I had recently moved & could not have pets, so I gave my male Dauchund (BamaBoy) to my sister & her husband, they have fell in love with him. But, they own a female bulldog, she is sweet an not aggressive towards him, yet.. Its been almost a month now and things are beginning to heat up! For beginners BamaBoy will not leave the bulldog alone, always running up behind her grabbing her,in other words he is pestering her, continuiously!! She is young herself, alittle over 1 yr. and he just turned 1 on the 28th of Sept. They have tried everything to get him to leave her alone! Is there any advice someone can offer, they do not want to get rid of either dog, but, between the barking and instigating-EVERYTHING! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I agree- I don't think there is much you can do about this. Just keep a close watch on them and maybe say the dachshund's name loudly and in a scolding manner when he bothers the other dog. I think with time and maybe maturity he will calm down.

We just recently purchased a puppy, who is a shitzy breed, and he just wont leave our cats alone, he always tries to jump on them and stuff like that. I think that with time and close supervision and training they should be able to get along...
